Poetry In Motion

Nature’s Power (In Progress)

Shadows creep steadily through the heart of the wood.
It’s eerie nature affects your mood.
Catching the moon’s reflection, looking for perfection,
You stutter as you see the whole of nature’s connection.
The Wood moans, through clouds of acid
It remains passive.
As the only way to do good is to do nothing – and let them figure it out.
Life. Death. Light. Shade.  The World. The End. The Future.

Ode to a Cookie
This is a sonnet in Free Verse, so I don’t have to write 10 syllables per line

Let the stomach growl. To do not so
is to show your impotence as an unwisened fool.
Buy it as a gift: wrap it in a bow.
Show compassion to a friend at school
or to a loved one, it matters not.
Place it on your mantel, for such beauty
should be on display, not to be forgot.
It’s warmth spreads when knowing no fruity
can give you such sweet pleasure. Seems a waste
when staleness ensures its demise.
But remember every second of its delicate taste
as the water creeps steadily from your eyes.
The tenderness of which I speak is unknown to a rookie;
for only those in admiration can enjoy the cookie.
